One thing we’re always doing in the office is sharing good
reads. Every week, we’ll have at least one email of relevant industry
articles…so we decided to compile a list of the best tips that have been sent
around recently. All of these articles are very different content-wise, but maybe
you’ll find one to be useful, too!
1 -
One theory we found in working with web
(it seems to be an everliving debate) is that keyword tags do NOT matter to Google’s search engine rankings. Straight from the horse’s mouth (Google webmaster blog), this fact may save you a little bit of time.
2 – Yes, there are a gazillion articles on the net about the
dos and don’ts of blogging, so it’s
hard to decide what to believe and what’s authentic. But we did find this post on ProBlogger to be pretty handy. (It’s a rather large read, but it does give you
tons of ideas so it’s worth skimming over)
3 – Ahhh, naming.
It’s a difficult and hair-tugging task, but this article from Fast Company
gives a bit of motivation and five key tips for branding/naming your company or product. Here’s a tidbit - “Remember it’s not what you
like, but what is going to get your customers to notice and engage with the new
name.”
4 – And finally, this isn’t an article, but this EasyRGB link was passed along recently by one of our designers as a useful tool. It simply converts RGB or Hex Code into a
commercial paint color by brand.
Feel free to share an article you thought was useful, too. Enjoy!
P.S. – we’re still taking resumes for the graphic designer
position below, so if you think you’re a good fit or know someone who is,
